This week’s podcast show guest is our old pal Mike Hawley from Heidts. Mike was last on the show exactly 100 episodes ago and was one of the first guests I ever had on. I originally met him on the 2009 Hot Rod Power Tour while he was driving the white ’71 Heidts Camaro, and he’s been a pal to me ever since (which did include autocross rides). He’s probably the most connected person in the industry that I’ve ever met, and if you ever meet him at a show he’ll give you the inside scoop on everyone and everything in the industry! He loves what he does, loves fast cars, and loves people. He’s a pretty capable driver as well, which comes in handy when trying to demonstrate high performance suspension components! Sine he was last on the show he took a brief hiatus from Heidts over to Schwartz Performance for a while, but he’s now back at Heidts and is raring to go.
During the interview Mike went over the new product lineups from Heidts, the biggest of which include their PRO-G bolt-in rear independent suspension kits for first and second generation Camaro’s, ’62’67 Nova’s, and ’64 1/2 to ’70 Mustangs! The kits include absolutely everything required for a full installation, feature inboard brakes, and are fully adjustable. All else that’s required is to throw on a set up wheels and bolt up the driveshaft! Heidts has also recently merged with Kenny Brown Performance, a name that is going to be very familiar with fans high performance suspension systems for Fox Body and newer Mustangs.
