K&F Show Summary:

Note: this is a rebroadcast of our Cannonball Run 2 review from KF Episode 250. Enjoy!

To commemorate our 250th episode we bring you Cannonball Run 2. By today’s standards it’s crass, racist, sexist, and a hilariously offensive automotive escape from reality. Back then though, it just was a crass yet hilarious automotive escape from reality. It stars everyone fun and funny from 1984 as you would expect from Burt Reynolds to Don Knotts to Frank Sinatra. If you liked the first Cannonball Run you’ll love this one….because it’s the same movie. Again. The Rigatoni’s and Fettuccine are in the mob, people pretending to be sheiks only because they have big noses, and John Schneider’s personal Lamborghini Countach makes an appearance with Catherine Bach! The cars are as big as the stars and they do what cars do best: slide and fly. This movie was hated by Siskel and Ebert because they hated movies that don’t make you think. But we don’t need to think. We never did. 10-Stars.

K&F Show Summary:

K&F Show Summary: This mid-month episode features a “re-run” of our movie review of Cannonball Run from Episode 85 of the Kibbe and Finnegan Show. Call us lazy, but it’s comedy gold. It also kept us from working too hard this week. Or at all. Enjoy.

This show features our review of the movie Cannonball Run, but it’s really more of a tribute to the late great Burt Reynolds who passed away a few years ago. We loved Burt’s crazy car movies and Cannonball Run was as zany as it ever got. The premise and screen play were a credit to automotive journalist Brock Yates (who makes a cameo in this movie), and then Burt, Dom DeLuise, and Hal Needham took of from there. Alter ego superheroes, cross-eyed proctologists, inappropriate humor (by today’s standards) and ambulances with straight headers are all you need to know. Thanks for the fun, Burt!
K& Rating: 9.5 CornDogs.

TMCP #494: Ask Rick – Valentine’s Day, Next Gen Mustang, Let’s Make a Deal on a Classic Car

Love is in the air and Valentines day is upon us. This time on Ask Rick, we dive into a subject we love …. and that is (potentially) buying more old gasoline powered classic cars. Rick recently attended the Kissimmee Mecum auction with good intentions of bidding on a few examples. He remarked that the prices were huge and the numbers blew right past what he planned on and kept skyrocketing. In previous episodes Rick said he believes that gas powered collectible cars will go up in value as new options start to dwindle being replaced by silent electric offerings.

TMCP #370: Dave Hall from Restore A Muscle Car on Trans Ams, The Restoration Business, and Working with Burt Reynolds; Pro-Touring Update with Larry Callahan – Good Guys Colorado Results

Today’s show is with Dave Hall, founder of Restore a Muscle Car, lover of Trans Am (and all muscle cars), and even a past show guest (episode 38). Restore A Muscle Car is an impressive restoration business that he and his wife have built together that restores all muscle cars, but is always the one I think of first when it comes to the “Bandit” Trans Am. They also had a close relationship with Burt Reynolds (The Bandit) himself!

K&F Show #35: Southern Comfurts – S2 Episode 23 of The Dukes of Hazzard!

The “Southern Comfurts” episode is the final one of Season 2….and while it’s full of crazy cornball crap, it’s as weird an episode as it gets, and for some reason the General Lee gets painted green to go “incognito”. Not camo green though. Just a normal, run of the mill, Crayola crayon color of green. Weird. Anyway, the Dukes also help a Southern family with the last name of “Comfurt” who come into a lot of money, only to lose the money in a pirates trunk in the back of a renal car. Boss Hogg tries to get the money, is kidnapped by some out of town bank robbers, and the Dukes save the day in a green General Lee. Did I mention that they paint it on the side of the road somehow? Hijinks ensue.
