Today’s Car: Rust Free ’68 GTO – Texas Barn Find!

GTO

Numbers-matching ’68 Pontiac GTO – barn find that has been stored since 1981.

The car was assembled at the Arlington Texas plant. The car has lived its complete life in north Texas and has 96330 original miles

The options include a TH400 transmission, ac, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, AM radio, console and buckets seat. His and hers shifter , rallye wheels ,vinyl top ,hideaway light

It is 99 % rust free and super solid. No rust under the vinyl top, light surface rust in the trunk, no rust on the dash, no rust in the quarter panels, super clean floor ,great frame ,door opens and closes perfectly with great gaps . Original paint on most of the car, all the glass is in good shape, all stainless moldings are in good shape, good chrome, the vinyl top needs to be replaced but there is zero rust under it. There is a dent on the driver side door and quarter panel. A few scratches and dings here and there.

Engine

Under the hood it is all original and complete. Everything is where it supposed to be. Engine has its code, it is a 4 barrel carburetor, with a verified the VIN on the block. Looks like the spark plug wires, fuel pump, and clutch fan hose has been replaced over the years. I have the original clutch for the fan, fuel pump, and carburetor body. The motor turns freely. The oil looks clean. There antifreeze in the radiator

The interior is in great shape but the carpet, headliner, and package tray need to be replaced. The dash, and door panels are perfect, and an aftermarket tach have been added
