FEATURE INTERVIEW[caption id="attachment_5612" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Liz Miles and her '68 Camaro. Image: milesspeed.com"][/caption] This week's podcast show guest is Liz Miles, from Holley. A lot of you likely know of her already, having seen her wrenching on cars in your favorite magazines and TV shows. I'm always interested to see how people choose their direction in life, and it's no surprise that hers is a unique one because, well, she's a girl! It turns out that her automotive path was influenced by a mix of her dad...and by her love of the '68 Camaro she bought as a 16 year old (and still has). From there she moved up and on to become a fabricator for Dominator Street Rods, then worked on-camera in Boyd Coddington's American Hot Rod TV show, became the Tech Editor of Popular Hot Rodding, and now works for Holley. The grass certainly doesn't grow under her feet, right? During our interview we talked about everything under the sun with her employer, Holley. We've all likely had a Holley 600 (or 10) in our lives, and yes indeed, Holley still makes a complete line of carbs today in any size and finish you can dream up. I was pleased to learn that they also have an in-house refurbishment service, so those of you with old Holley carbs can send them in and have them rebuilt by the original manufacturer if you desire! We also discussed Holley's bolt-on EFI setups, and then moved to topic of NASCAR fuel injection. Holley has had carburetors as standard equipment in NASCAR since King Richard was in his heyday, and today they're the supplier of the throttle bodies used there as well (McClaren supplies the electronics and software). Following that we had time to talk a little about their lineup of LS engine parts (and dove a little into Holley's awesome annual LS Fest event) and some of the other companies inside Holley, such as Weiand and Hooker Headers! Thanks for the interview, Liz!
