Mike Delahanty and a 347 small block!

Blue Oval fans, this one’s for you! Our guest on the podcast show this week was Mr. Mike Delahanty from Ford Racing Performance Parts! Mike’s been on the performance side of the automotive industry his entire career and is now the Product Manager of Engines and Engine Components and Program Manager for Sportsman Circle Track Racing for Ford Racing. Since one of the most common things in the world when building or restoring a car is to purchase a crate engine, likely one from the same manufacturer of the car itself, I thought Mike would be the best person to go to inside of Ford to discuss every crate engine offering they have available…and he didn’t disappoint!

During the interview we took our time to go into detail on the crate engine offerings inside of the Ford catalog. The engine packages there are broken into several categories from traditional Ford 302, 351, and big block packages all the way up to the latest modular packages (including the new 5.0 Coyote engine found in the new Mustang and the 5.4 found in the new GT500). Ford does offer a “plug-and-play” offering for the computer controlled engines as well. In addition to crate engines we talked a little NASCAR, Rally, and a few other forms of racing as well.

Thanks for the interview, Mike!
