Have you wondered why it is that we all drool over 40 year old cars, but give no love to the new ones?  No?  Shame on you.  Let’s see if we can figure it out.

The 60’s and 70’s cars that grace this website are (for the most part) what we like to give our attention to.  These cars have already proven themselves.  We have a lot of memories and emotions tied up in to them.  They have quirks that we’ve learned, and vice versa.

New cars, on the other hand, have none of that.  They’re brilliantly engineered to be safe, ergonomic, fuel efficient, aerodynamic, environment friendly, easy to drive…..and are, well, boring.   Those have all been characteristics of being fun-killers when it comes to something like muscle cars…until now.  Believe it or not, but right now Detroit, sad state that it’s in, is pumping out some of the coolest American muscle that they’ve ever created.  To quote William Shatner in Airplane II, “I guess irony is pretty ironic sometimes.”

The 2010 Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger are all incredible cars.   They’re everything we love about our rides, but wrapped in modern engineering.  Who knows how long it will be until they’re legislated out of existence again (or why it took so long to get here  in the first place), but I have a feeling that soon we’ll all have a lot of memories tied up in rides like these…and that they’ll be gracing this site being bought and sold by all of you muscle car nuts.

Enjoy this clip from Garage419.com.  Matt Farah thrashes around in a 2010 Shelby GT500.  Someday I need to find a gig like this.  Note – swearing is used in this video….actually, it’s just one swear word, but it’s a big one – it’s the one that Ralphie used in A Christmas Story (…only I didn’t say “fudge”).
