FEATURE INTERVIEW

In this episode we had the chance for a feature interview with Sandor Piszar, the Director of Strategy and Planning for Performance Vehicles and Motorsports at GM. If that sounds like a long title for a really big job….it is, but it sounds like a fun one. Sandor gave us the inside scoop on the 2012 COPO Camaro program and went into the full details of how many they built, why they chose the engine packages they did, and what the goal of the COPO really is (here’s a hint; it might have something to do with beating the Mustang Cobra Jet and the Challenger Drag Pack).

Sandor went through great detail describing how one could build a COPO for themselves using nothing but the Chevy Performance catalog by starting with a BIW (Body In White) Camaro and adding on the appropriate parts. He also eluded to the fact that even though a select 69 COPO’s will be built for 2012 (all of which are already spoken for), the door is not closed on a 2013 COPO is the market wants it.

Thanks for the interview, Sandor!
