Tech: Let's Talk Cams!During this episode our own "Grumpy" Tony Whatley ran down the basics of camshaft technology, and we also talked about specific applications when running a naturally aspirated engine, or if planning one that will use power adders. Long story short, the APPLICATION of your engine is the key in choosing a cam (drag race, autocross, street machine hero, etc.), so start there and then hit the technical topics: -Duration -Overlap -Lift -Cam Lope -Cam Surge -How big a cam can you go and still maintain drivability? -Can You Just Swap A Cam - or do you need to match the heads/intake/injectors, etc? When making your cam choice, we recommend just calling the COMP Cams Tech Line and go from there. They'll walk you through the process end-to-end and will (if needed) make a custom grind just for your ride.
Upcoming Events:1) Lingenfelter Battle of the Brands Sept 21-23, Norwalk OH 2) October 11-14, LSX Series Final Race, Lucas Oil Raceway, Indianapolis, Indiana
