The GL in a full glory jump in S4E14 “Dukescam Scam.” Image: Warner Bros

Dukes Review: Dukescam Scam

This is the classic tale of Boss Hogg being jailed for robbing his own bank as a trick to get Jesse to bail him out using the Duke Farm as collateral. Why? Because 40 years prior when Jesse and Boss were moonshiners, Boss helped Jesse out of a jam. This leads to Boss eating a lot of raw liver, the General jumping a pong about 50 times, and a salvation moment inside an air-starved bank vault. FYI – there is an alarming lack of Daisy walking around in shorts in this one. 8 out of 10 Corndogs.

Legit Show Info:
Written by Bruce Howard
Directed by Denver Pyle
Original Airdate: January 1, 1982

Corndog’s Insider Analysis:
-This is an out of season order show. It was actually filmed in Season 3 but was never used. That’s the reason for the small pushbar.

-There is a Toyota pickup in the show that wears a pushbar. This may be the real thing that was used as a template for the GL’s.

-The soundstage car is a real saddle interior car. The black (original) VIN tag is the giveaway.

One Response

  1. Hey Rob, after listening to the show and being intrigued about the posibility of the small push bar actually being of Toyota design I did a little sleuthing. I was hoping to find images from a parts and accessories brochure but no luck as yet. I did however find a picture of one on a vehicle and I’m pretty sure your on to something, it looks identicle all apart from having a third horizontal bar. It’s a good, clear, reasonable size picture and if you’d like me to send it, just let me know. Big fan of TMCP and KAFShow, all the best,
    Pete
