The contrast between high performance and a subtle color is always appealing and this cool 1967 Camaro convertible looks exactly right wearing Butternut Yellow and a contrasting black nose stripe. Recently refinished with gorgeous paint a detailed 350 under the hood and a host of upgrades it's an awesome machine that delivers the performance its looks seem to promise. Although the '69 Camaro is quite likely the most popular Chevy of all time there are a large number of folks who think the simple lines of the earlier cars were exactly right. Compact but muscular the first Camaro was a simple design that allowed small details to have a big impact. Super straight sheetmetal certainly helps and the finish quality on this car is quite good although this is definitely not a trailer queen. They kept the original hood with its factory inserts and the ducktail spoiler which together make this an aggressive-looking ragtop that doesn't lose its F-body identity in the process. The black stripe follows the factory pattern and the blacked-out SS grille up front finishes out the aggressive package without being overbearing. Excellent chrome bumpers and bright stainless on things like the windshield surround add a bit of jewelry. And while it's a subtle thing all the glass is new which gives the car a very clean bright look that often goes unnoticed. Inside black Strato buckets wear fresh seat covers that replicate the original pattern with a matching seat cover on the rear bench. Many of the soft parts were replaced during the restoration including those seat covers the carpets the door panels and even the dash pad appears to be a newer piece. A skinny deep-dish steering wheel is pure 1960s style with clean original gauges including a factory tach clearly visible through the spokes. A trio of auxiliary gauges on the center console just ahead of the Hurst cue ball shifter. A digital AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit fits neatly into the original AM radio's slot. Overhead there's a new black power convertible top that includes a matching black boot and the trunk is fitted with a correct reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire. Power comes from a sweet-running 350 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and the engine bay is dressed for show. With a ton of chrome from the valve covers and air cleaner to the aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold with a fresh 4-barrel carb on top this is an engine you'll want to show off. Double-hump heads help build horsepower and there's a fresh exhaust system with correct transverse muffler underneath. The Chevy Orange paint on the block is a match for the original stuff and really pops against the satin black inner fenders and firewall. Underneath it's clean and solid with all the convertible-specific bracing still intact which combines with the cocktail shakers in the nose and trunk to make these little ragtops feel a little more solid on the road. In back a familiar 10-bolt rear end distributes the torque and it rolls on handsome 15-inch Rally wheels wearing Firestone Firehawk radials. There's a lot more than the asking price wrapped up in this slick F-body ragtop and the classic color combination will never go out of style. Call today!
