It’s not common to find a car with this much original documentation — judging by the paperwork that we have it is safe to say that this car has only had one actual owner! We have repair records dating back to 1972 as well as the original title application protect-o-plate owner’s manual brochure registration records from 1971-96 and a very rare letter postmarked 1971 from Chevrolet to the owner documenting how to store your Vette presumably while away in Vietnam. Assembled on March 7 1970 this Corvette has had many thousands of dollars invested and is ready to show or drive. Paint on this car is very nice looking to be very recent and showing a brilliant shine. Convertible top is newer as well with no obvious flaws and a clear window. Chrome bumpers appear to be newer reproductions and are in very good condition. Weatherstripping is newer and in very good condition; taillights look to be older but are in good condition nonetheless with no cracking. Exterior door handles look to be newer reproductions in very good condition although the passenger side does have a slightly lazy return spring. This car wears rally wheels in very good condition with very good condition trim rings and center caps. Tires are reproduction Firestone Wide Oval raised white letter bias-ply and show 10/32nds tread remaining. This car is available with what is quite possibly its ORIGINAL matching vinyl-covered auxiliary hardtop judging by the November 1969 date code on the glass. This matching hardtop can be had for an additional $1500. Keep in mind that only 832 cars come from the factory with vinyl-covered hardtops in 1970 and we have a photo dated 1971 showing the hardtop on the car so chances are this is one of those 832 cars ordered with the option! All other glass on this car with the exception of the windshield shows a correct date code. The interior of this 1970 Corvette Convertible shows excellent condition leather seat covers excellent condition door panels and gauges and very good condition loop carpet steering wheel dash pad and center console. Original AM/FM stereo is in place as well. The numbers matching engine in this car shows casting date February 11 1970 and final assembly date February 25 1970. Correct intake is in place as well as a Quadrajet carburetor that would be correct for a 1973 Corvette with the standard 350 and automatic transmission. This engine compartment has been very nicely detailed and features ignition shielding as well as correct hoses and clamps. Frame is clean solid and rust-free as well. The party from whom we purchased this Corvette from states that both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt in the last 500 miles as well as most of the front suspension and power steering system.
