Hey hey! We went to the 2018 Hot Rod Power Tour – Atlanta Stop! This episode regales the details of the trip, the cars, the fun, the lack of sleep, the sunburns, the Charger parts swapped a plenty, and chicken fingers eaten atop a (mostly) clean Waste Management trash can. It was a massive effort filled with silly old cars and truly outstanding friends. More of these to come. We even tagged a Dukes review in here – one of the “lost” first four episodes, Season 1, Episode 2 – Daisy’s Song. They went to Atlanta in that one…and we were in Atlanta for the Power Tour…and we didn’t have time to review a new episode…so problem solved. Enjoy!

One last thing. We’re supposed to push the merch even more now that we’re not running ads! So, to get a shirt just go to http://www.kfshowshirts.com. We’ll be adding in stickers, decals, and other cool stuff in the future too. Want different colors? Let us know!

K&F Show #73: Corndog After Dark; Plus Diamonds in the Rough; Our Review of S4 Episode 3 of the Dukes of Hazzard!

As you’ll hear in this show….we’re taking a little break from running traditional ads right now. That means that right now the only support for this show is coming from you! Consider this your no-guilt-yet-kinda-begging request to take a look at contribution to our show on Patreon. We have $1, $2, and $5 monthly options available – or you can just do something of your own choosing too. In addition to our undying love, Patreon supports will receive an exclusive once-per-month Q&A show with us – no holds barred! Our first one came out the last week of May 2018. You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow.

Show and Dukes Review: Finnegan is off on Roadkill, thus Corndog is back for another deep diving Corndog session of Hollywood Mopar laced brainwaves. This is followed by our Dukes review, and this episode fits your classic case of a Bugs Bunny doll filled with stolen diamonds that’s dropped from an airplane, intended for bad guys, but intercepted by Bo and Luke. See? Classic. This results in the bad guy leader (who’s actually a bad girl, not a guy) to fake being a moonshine biographical news reporter to trick Daisy into letting her into the Dukes home. And then Rosco makes a speed limit sign that is remote controlled. And then Waylon says that the bad-guy-leader-bad-girl should be spanked. They don’t make ’em like the used to. 8 Corndogs!

K&F Show #72: Like a Phoenix from the Ashes – The Resurrection of “Death Metal: Finnegan’s ’68 Race-Car Charger!

Hey hey! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the Patreon support! We are sending out the first Q&A email tomorrow for the special Patreon edition of the show. Slowly but surely, between Patreon, ads, and old Chargers we’re getting this sucker figured out. Want to get in on it? You can find it at https://www.patreon.com/kfshow!

Well, this is the episode where we never actually got to the Dukes review. Or the movie review. Or the anything review, other than a brief description of the awesome new “Cobra Kai” series on YouTube Red. Why? Because this is the episode where we did the full dig on the resurrection of Finnegan’s ’68 Charger! If you’ll recall, a K&F listener sent me the car on eBay, I sent it to Mike, Mike bought it later that night, my buddy Rodney and I picked it up in Minnesota and then met Mike and his dad with it in Tennessee, and just last week he, Tony Angelo, Daniel Boshears, and a slew of the faithful put Humpty Dumpty back together again to return it to visit it’s original builder, Joe Berry. The problem was, it wasn’t exactly a bone stock ’68 Charger to start with. It was a race car built in 1970 by a farmer, it never turned a lap, and every home brewed trick in the books was used to get it NASCAR legal for an era that still allowed drivers to smoke cigarettes while racing. Listen in to hear Finnegan relive a week of 16 hours days to get the car back on the road – and back to Joe Berry. And if you prefer our standard banter/Hollywood format, not to worry; we’ll be back at it next week!

Follically challenged friends, today is the day you’ve been waiting for. K&F Show #71: Super Fake Double Duke Boys with a Fake General Lee; Our Review of S4 Episode 2 of the Dukes of Hazzard!

We are live on Patreon now – and thank you, thank you, thank you for the support so far! It’s freaking awesome and we’ll use the proceeds to keep the show in full production hands (i.e. pay Bernie), plus buy speed parts for two Chargers. You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow.

Dukes Review: For the love of all that’s holy, this may be the most perfect Dukes episode ever. When the premise of your episode is a set of fake Bo and Luke’s with a fake General Lee it truly cannot get any better without receiving an R-rating somehow. Here’s the gist of it all: Boss Hogg hires two dudes to literally portray Bo and Luke Duke. He has professional masks and wigs made so that these fakers will look just like the real McCoy, all so that they can publicly rob the bank and leave a trail of both shock and awed public eyewitnesses. He even gets his fake fakers a fake General Lee that will magically have to fight the real General Lee to the death. Here’s a clue fake General Lee: Real General Lee always wins! Paul Baxley directed this episode and it’s loaded with a terrible plot and spectacular stunts, just as God intended. 10 Corndogs all around!

K&F Show #70: Where It all Began: The Lost Review of “One Armed Bandits: S1E1 of the Dukes of Hazzard

Hey hey! If you’d like to support the show, both witty banter and show review, you can! We’re live on Patreon now! Thank you thank you thank you for the support. When we hit our funding goal Bernie gets a new hip! You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow.

At long last, this is the long lost Kibbe and Finnegan Review of the very first episode of The Dukes of Hazzard ever; “One Armed Bandits.” Many of you have asked where we reviewed this episode, because the very first K&F Show starts with a review Season 1 Episode 5 of the Dukes. The thing is, when we started Kibbe and Finnegan it wasn’t actually Kibbe and Finnegan….it was a segment we did on The MuscleCar Place Podcast called “DukesCast.” After 4 Dukes Cast episodes it was clear that we needed a full blown show of our own to take our love of the Dukes (and witty banter) to the next level.

Anyway, ask and ye shall receive! Also, be warned. This is (basically) nothing like a Kibbe and Finnegan show that we do now. Mike’s on the phone in this one. There’s no Corndog. And this was done over 2 years ago on The MuscleCar Place (Episode 274 – https://themusclecarplace.com/tmcp-274-dukescast1), and on the Internet a two year gap is like a century. The Dukes episode itself that we review is pretty different too. Other than the characters having the same names they do now, and the General Lee being orange, everything else is waaaaaaaay different!

K&F Show #69: Yes! It’s The Dukes of Hazzard Star Trek Crossover – S4 Episode 1 of the Dukes of Hazzard

So, yes – we are live on Patreon now – and thank you, thank you, thank you for the support so far! It’s freaking awesome and we’ll use the proceeds to keep the show in full production hands (i.e. pay Bernie), plus buy speed parts for two Chargers. You can jump in by visiting www.patreon.com/kfshow.

Here’s the Dukes Review: In our last show Finnegan got what he had always wanted: A review of Two Lane Blacktop. This time, it’s Kibbe’s turn for joy filled senselessness; a Star Trek the Next Generation crossover episode with the Dukes! Well, not quite that, but close-ish. This is the first episode of Season 4 of the Dukes of Hazzard and the guest star is none other than Johanthan Frakes, Commander Riker himself. Commander Riker plays the part of a nephew to Boss Hogg, and as a Hogg relative Commander Riker must steal and connive his way through life. It’s in his blood. Anyway, he fulfills his Star Fleet destiny by counterfeiting money, putting it into boxes of “grits”, and then falling into love with Daisy Duke and getting her to marry him to avoid the eventual damning legal testimony issue he’ll have in court when he gets caught. It fails, Daisy is shunned, the General Lee jumps, and Riker gets beamed back up to the Enterprise (not true, but wouldn’t have that been super awesome)?

K&F Show #68: The Podcast Finnegan Has Been Waiting For All His Life: Our Full Review of “Two Lane Blacktop”

Before I give the movie review, I’m happy to announce that we are now into our second week of being LIVE on Patreon! Thank you so much to those of you who chose to support the show directly, and we promise to use all funds to continue building the show you want and the one we love to make. We have also figured out what we’re going to do for Patreon supporters and you’ll hear about in an upcoming episode.  You can go hear to add to the mix: www.patreon.com/kfshow.  Thank you again!!

In this episode of the show we finally reviewed the movie Two Lane Blacktop, a movie that Finnegan’s been wanting to hit since we started. Without a doubt this is the last piece of the cinematic puzzle that makes Mike…well, Mike. It’s a movie that has clearly influenced him greatly not because it’s a fantastic comedy or anything, but because it’s about two guys running the country in a homebuilt gasser ’55 Chevy. In their lives that’s all there is, it’s all they need, and all they want. Or is it? Along with way they pick up a random hitchhiker girl who (like the two guys) has no apparent backstory and no dreams going forward. They race an older guy – cross country – in a ’70 GTO Judge who is as philosophical as he is total crackpot wacko. There’s a ton a dialogue in this movie, yet there’s nearly none at the exact same time. This was done in the era of movie making where sometimes the plot and meaning was a secret known only to the writer and director…and Finnegan freaking loves it. In fact he loves it so much that his favorite car ever is a ’55 Chevy gasser named Blasphemi. Kibbe has decided that the psyche of Finnegan is made up of a very simple equation, and once you understand it you’ll have unlocked the key to Mike’s brain, soul, and car:

Two Lane Blacktop + Better Off Dead + The Dukes of Hazzard + Spaceballs = Mike Finnegan

K&F Show #67: We’re Live on Patreon and Our Final Season 3 Dukes Review: Episode 22, The Canterbury Crock

OK, two big things to share in this one. First, we’re now LIVE on Patreon and you can find it at https://www.patreon.com/kfshow! We have every desire to continue to do – and build – this show, and as we shared in the show….it hasn’t gone quite to plan. But, a number of you have awesomely offered (and even asked) to support the show directly, and Patreon is the best way that we know how to do it. You can choose from the three levels of support you’d like to do and we’ll be putting together something cool for those that choose to go this direct route! We’re building this airline as we fly it (or as we jump it). Maybe this is the point where things can go to that next level.

Here’s the second big thing; we just finished our review of the final episode of Season 3 of the Dukes. This episode is likely both the first and lat time that Julius Caeser will be referenced as a connection to the plot of the story (not a joke). Apparently a vase was commissioned by Cleopatra, it ended up in Hazzard County, and a fancy-pants art collector brings Sgt Tackleberry from the Police Academy movies to come get it. This somehow leads to Daisy giving Cooter flowers for his birthday, Rosco and Boss jumping the General Lee backwards down a cliff, and everything working out great in the end. And a widow gets her mortgage paid in there somewhere too. 10-corndogs all around.

MeUndies is also back to sponsor this episode…and just in comfort ball cuddling time! To get your 20% off of your first order of MeUndies, Free Shipping AND their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and get the best and softest underwear you will ever own, go to http://www.MeUndies.com/kafs. Trust us. Get the ones with the crotch pouch.

DUKES REVIEW: Do you remember Tuck McElroy, Lead Singer of The Good ‘Ol Boys and the driver in the Winnebago from the Blue Brothers? That’s the bad guy in this episode. And unfortunately, that fact alone is pretty much the highlight of this one too. Anyway, here’s the run down: Boss Hogg is kidnapped for ransom by an escaped convict, ‘ol Tuck McElroy himself. The convict had been imprisoned after Boss had testified against him at a trial, and he swore his revenge…which is what this whole episode is about apparently. The convict steals the General Lee, puts Boss in the shotgun seat, buys a log of salami, and then hides in a shack until the Dukes challenge him to a race (weird race – it’s the General Lee vs the Dukes, all of whom are riding horeseback). I made almost none of that up. 6 Corndogs.

As you’ll here in this episode, the Sponsorship Fastlane course is back! One student took the course last year and put in the hard work…and saw $10K in results back! Course is open until April 17, 2018. www.sponsorshipfastlane.com

K&F Show #66: Corndog’s Charismatic Yet Terrifying Knowledge of the General Lee; Our Review of The Hack of Hazzard – S3 Episode 21 of the Dukes of Hazzard

Follically challenged friends, today is the day you’ve been waiting for. While Finnegan’s melon is flush with plush, the majority of the rest of us have experienced (or will experience) hair loss as we get older. And as much as we hate admitting that it bothers us, it still does. So…we’re happy to announce that Keeps has joined on to sponsor a portion of today’s episode, and even happier that they have a 100% online and low cost method to make things get fuzzy again.

Finnegan is out on Roadkill duty this week so once again Corndog took the mantle of responsibility, charging forward with the old claim that the show must go on. Neither rain nor sleet will keep us from our appointed rounds…and I had more geeky General Lee questions to ask him. Also in this episode – an actual Dukes review that we made it to! This one is a good episode centered on the classic story-line you’ve heard a thousand times: two bad guys put a stolen gold certificate in the back of a tattered rear seat of a taxi-cab that Bo and Luke are driving (to help Miss Tizzdale) that ends up in an upholstery shop where Boss and Rosco dress like ghosts, which ends in the entire story completing in a massive cause of mail fraud and a minor case of shenanigans. And a General lee jump is in there too. So, good. -Kibbe

MOVIE REVIEW: This is normally where we sum up the gift of the movie or Dukes of Hazzard episode that we had reviewed. This time though, we’ll focus on both Finnegan’s new Charger as well as the movie because they seemingly go hand in hand. On the one side you have a 1968 Dodge Charger that was configured to run in NASCAR in 1970….but it was never raced due to financial woes of the owner. On the other side you have galactic superheroes Han and Chewie…er, I mean, Lonestar and Barf cruising the galaxy in search for a solution to their financial woes. With the Charger, Finnegan can barley fit in the car without wearing a helmet, much less with one. With Spaceballs, Rick Moranis wore a helmet 24 inches in diameter that he could filter coffee through. And mutually, the both require a knock off version of “The Force” to make magic happen. 10 Corndogs all around!

If you made it this far, check out KFSHOWShirts.com to get yourself a Kibbe and Finnegan Show t-shirt – and the hoodies are back! They’re awesome and all proceeds go to support the people and Dodge Chargers that make this show happen. Thanks for listening and supporting!
