What is Your Project For?

Is it better to plan out a build up front, or simply let it take it’s course? It depends! Jeff Allison takes us through a 12 year build of the evolution of a ’72 2WD Suburban into an LS powered 4WD ’68 CrewCab Pickup!

eBay Pick of the Week – ’69 Charger Project

One day each week we’ll list a cool project car or a nice driver for sale here from eBay Motors. We’ll try to keep the price to a max of $20,000 for full driver cars. For project cars, no more than $5,000. This week’s pick is a ’69 Charger!

25 Years Later, It’s The Comeback Karmann Ghia, Part 2

In last week’s blog post I gave you the history on my little yellow VW. When the story ended I had just said my goodbye’s to the Ghia at a used car dealership and was following my dad’s new-to-us Buick home on my bike. It was the worst bike ride of my life and taught me that crying and bicycle riding are tough to do at the same time. That night I couldn’t get through any homework and spent most of my night crying in my room.

But You Can’t Find Parts For Those Cars….

Recently I received a call from a very nice fellow from the East coast who builds muscle cars for a living.  He has a high-end shop that has a long list of cars that he’s built for his customers.  One of the nicest looking, factory–correct, numbers matching Chevelle’s I’ve ever seen is among the list […]

25 Years Later, It’s The Comeback Karmann Ghia: Part 1

Before we begin with this blog post I’ll first acknowledge the obvious; I’m writing a post today about a ’73 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and there is no way on earth it could ever be related to a muscle car. That being said, it has everything to do with the fact that that there is a MuscleCar Place, and after waiting for 25 years it’s now in my care!

How did YOU get HERE?

So, how did YOU end up in the auto industry? This is usually one of the top five questions I hear at shows. It often follows “Do you work here?” or (and I haven’t been able to make too much sense of this one) “Are you guys brother and sister?” As far as the do-you-work-here question goes, if you’re asking someone standing in a 10×10 booth at a show of any kind, chances are, yes. Yes, that person works *there*. It’s a reasonable question, certainly. Scan the industry as a whole, and you’ll see mostly men. How does a younger woman with a background in just about anything but cars end up in the world of hot rods? Well, start by marrying a hot rod designer. Not mine, he’s taken.
